In a show of good will and not a little promotion, Gaydar being the good chaps that they are, are getting behind major gay events across the US. Courtney Act: First Drag Contestant on ‘Idol!’

NEW YORK, NY…July 7, 2010 – Australian Idol alumni and gender-bending sensation Courtney Act is set to release her international single, Welcome to Disgraceland, on July 22^nd via Cool Kids Club it was announced today. To promote the electro-pop song, Courtney Act will embark on her first international tour this summer, hitting major cities in the USA and Europe.

“The single was inspired by my live performance nightclub “Disgraceland”, said Courtney Act at the announcement of the song release in Australia. “I wrote it because I wanted a track that was unique to me. The lyrics and catch phrases in the song have come from the mouth of Courtney Act.”

Courtney Act’s Disgraceland is one of Sydney and Melbourne, Australia’s most popular nightclubs renowned for its elaborate costumes, colorfully mischievous dancers, and over-the-top wind machines.

Some of the biggest names in the world have attended Disgraceland including George Michael and the Pussycat Dolls.

“No matter where I am when I sing the song’s chorus, the audience and I are magically transported to Disgraceland,” she continues. “It’s euphoric to see everyone in the arena jumping, dancing, laughing and celebrating the debauchery!”

Most recently, Courtney performed a private birthday performance for Lady Gaga – complete with a lap dance! “It was like Lady Gaga had a light that was shining from the inside out,” reflects Courtney Act. “The party was held outside and after the performance, we chatted and walked together in a garden. At one point, we reached some stone steps that looked dangerous. Gaga suggested we take off our heels since they were both 6”. Mine, however, were not Armani Privé and Swarovski encrusted.

“What struck me was how very normal Lady Gaga was. An important lesson was reiterated that night – one I hope audiences will gleam from my show: Our similarities are greater than out differences.”

Courtney Act made a named for herself in 2003, when after trying out and failing to get on Australian Idol as Shane Jenek, she returned for the next day’s audition as Courtney Act. Courtney’s explosive, energetic performing style, coupled with her joyous personality, sent audiences wild in the first series of ‘Australian Idol’. With performances of songs like “You Don’t Own Me”, “W.O.M.A.N.” and “You Shook Me All Night Long”, the country was mesmerized and Australia had a new, slightly less conventional, sweetheart.

In addition to being the first drag contestant on “Idol”, Courtney Act was the franchises’ first out contestant. No other contestant on any Idol show throughout the world has ever been out during production. Still, Courtney doesn’t credit the dress for her success.

“I was judged on my entertainment value and talent, two essential qualities for any pop artist,” she says. “I know the fact that I was in drag added to the entertainment value, but I think the whole package is what got me through.”

The appearance led to many new opportunities, including a make-up contract as one of the TV faces of Sheer Cover Make-up, a role in the Australian company of the musical RENT, and numerous TV show appearances including Australia’s Next Top Model. In 2007, she was selected by FHM Magazine readers as one of FHM’s Top 100 Sexiest Women in the World.

Please read the whole article at HuffPo - the full 2,600 page report covering the recent unveiling of systematic abuse, rape, and torture of young boys by the Catholic Church (and their involvement in keeping them out of the hands of the law are truly staggering.

In 2009, The Irish Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse (CICA) investigated such of these events as occurred on Irish soil. Their report runs to 2,600 pages. Having read only an oppressive fraction of this document, I can say that when thinking about the ecclesiastical abuse of children, it is best not to imagine shades of ancient Athens and the blandishments of a “love that dare not speak its name.” Yes, there have surely been polite pederasts in the priesthood, expressing anguished affection for boys who would turn 18 the next morning. But behind these indiscretions there is a continuum of abuse that terminates in utter evil. The scandal in the Catholic Church — one might now safely say the scandal that is the Catholic Church — includes the systematic rape and torture of orphaned and disabled children. Its victims attest to being whipped with belts and sodomized until bloody — sometimes by multiple attackers — and then whipped again and threatened with death and hell fire if they breathed a word about their abuse. And yes, many of the children who were desperate or courageous enough to report these crimes were accused of lying and returned to their tormentors to be raped and tortured again.

Misteriosa sometimes wonders why Sade never uses the strong narratives in her songs to use for her music videos. They are so compelling, and instead, we get these beautiful looking abstracts that are unrelated to the material. It feels disjointed, but then again, it’s doubtful you’ll ever think of few people who can make home-made cooking in a “third-world” kitchen look so glamorous!

As always, the colors in her videos just “pop!”

What’s more, the $40,000 he was PAID by Florida taxpayers (whether you wanted to or not), to be an “expert” anti-gay witness during the whole legal challenge to Florida’s ban on gay adoptions, was used to hire this rentboy, AND THEN take him on a 10 day trip of Europe!!!

The irony of this is insurmountable - we won’t even try, because the jokes just write themselves - as evidenced below…
