International Drag History Month - Not a Bad Idea!
Bebe suggests we begin an "International Drag History Month" in January.
Not a bad idea. Yes, we have Pride in June, but, it's so much more than that now - and it's certainly not focused on drag queens. Lest we forget, it was the DRAG QUEENS who threw the first bricks at ignorant, pushy police officers that kept stepping over the line at Stonewall. Christopher Street was ABLAZE in homosexual anger, and who has more repressed anger than the "lowest of the low?"
It's time to reclaim our spot in LGBT history, and recognize that had it NOT been for the Drag Queens to take that first, daring, fabulous step to stand up in the name of Pride, we might still very well be living in the dark ages of the past century.
So, let's make this really happen!
We already have some suggestions as to whom should go into the Legendary Hall of Fame!
