Don’t Want Anyone to Know What You’re Up to Online?
If you use torrents, don't like being throttled, don't appreciate your ISP (even if you are stuck with them), concerned over cyber-attacks, or just in general: don't like Big Brother watching everything you do/read/send/etc...then we recommend Tor.
Not only will it do all the above, it will make it impossible for your IP to be tracked (advanced settings), and every 10 minutes your tracks are switched and your digital "footprints" erased. This also includes ANY cookies or web history on your local machine.
It will even allow you to bypass the ridiculous firewalls at work so that you can be more productive, you know - like watching drag queens!
By agreeing to be a "relay" point, you allow the network to grow and provide even greater anonymity. It's so secure that writers use them for chats with whistle-blowers (there is a version of Tor just for IM/Chat) to protect their sources, various world governments and relief/aid agencies utilize it to protect their identities & locations.
Best of all - it's free. You do not register. It is open-source. The way things should be.
Rock on!
