Chang.org: It’s OK, Some of My Best Friends are Bigots.

Change.org discusses the new doublespeak that is permeating right wing-nut-jobs: I don't hate gay people, I just believe in traditional marriage. Essentially, the thesis is boiling down to creating an ephemeral irrelevance to the idea of gay equality by not making it a "personal" issue, insomuch as a politcal one. Of course, this is a falsehood, because to religious fundamentalists, such a question is DEEPLY PERSONAL. What few things get more personal than "faith/religion?" The converse is true: how is equality not a DEEPLY PERSONAL issue for us?

That's like wanting your hairdresser, caterer, server, choreographer, interior designer, makeup artist, actor/singer/writer/unemployed artist, and other stereotypical queer friends, but discriminating against them at the same time? Ex-kweeze-us?

The Beauty Bitch & the Alaskan Idiot Gone Rogue are mentioned in this article...and we are really detecting a pattern here: The hopeless GOP moving the middle and independents with thoughts like this, and grooming only women to be the present political figureheads of the conservative, Republican movement. We think this creates yet another dangerous illusion, where conservative automatons believe women have reached equilibrium with men, and thus have finally earned their vote.
