Lewis Black Comments on the Clusterfuck that is American Health “Care” - “Reform.”
Next to torture, GLBT civil inequality, and the lack of basic public health coverage for all citizens (in the richest country, with the most resources in the world) makes us look increasingly more and more like a third world country...and slipping... Let's just not mention how grotesquely skewed most are to do anything in favor of the almighty dollar, even if it means fucking people over so they die from lack of coverage! But, hey, the CEO of the Pharma company has that big new house, and amaaaaaaaaaaazing 3-month Pan-Asian holiday! He worked so hard for that! Have you seen the photos on his Facebook page?... Anyone notice that Iceland applied to be a part of the European Union because their economy, thanks to us, literally fucking collapsed, and the only way an ENTIRE COUNTRY can restructure its entire fiscal system and debt is to adopt the currency and laws of a league of other nations?
Yes, we made it THAT bad...imagine how well our corporations are going to start taking care of us, given the swell job they have all been doing lately. Yes, those new "anit-commi," "anti-socialist," "anti-big-government" ads are now in full swing trying to scare the living SHIT out the elderly in America. The ads are making them think we (the people) are going to leave them without healthcare if the HMO's & Big-Pharma, goodness forbid, stopped monopolizing the system and had competition step in from the federal government!
Um, isn't the government supposed to HELP its people? Not gouge them (nor ALLOW THEM TO BE GOUGED), keep them sick and addicted to prescription drugs? How about showing the ads for what they really are: anti-anything-fucking humane-&-compassionate?
