Truman desegregated the army by edict, just “with the stroke of a pen.” Obama could do the same on “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell,” and other discriminatory policies…but we think he’s not only being too careful, but disappointing those he made campaign promises to — just as Melissa Etheridge herself feared when she asked him as a candidate on Logo with Hilary Clinton.
