Brandy?! “Human.”
It just goes to show what a vacuum some of the editors here are in that Brandy's 2008 album Human only now just slid across our makeup table and into our iPod. It's a R&B/Pop crossover that shows the artist's transition to a young woman.
Listening to it, it's difficult as an outside observer to not correlate some of the songs' sentiments related to her tragic car accident in 2006 that killed the other driver and pulled her into a lengthy wrongful-death lawsuit, for which she was acquitted.
The album is honest, earnest, heartfelt, and as always - fantastic vocals that are not designed in a studio - but measured with control and not done as an exercise in vocal acrobatic runs for show. If you were born after the early 90's, it's hard to explain how she was literally everywhere. The girl had hit after hit, and this album is just as strong as any of her earlier works, provided that's the kind of music you are into!
