The Drag Queen Posse

We're fairly sure that somewhere in the world, Madonna has already drunk the blood of several photographer's assistants, graphic artists, and attorneys --- limbs, intestines, and other assorted body parts strewn in expensive studios & offices. We're sure that a person like herself, for whom image is essential to her well-being as an artist, is not pleased. This photo breach has probably sent her into violent fits of rage (Kabbalah and The Golden Rule be damned!). We're also fairly certain that more than one person is going to be sued - for a lot of fucking money. Either that, or she'll permanently destroy their career or have them killed given a good talking to (hey, she IS from Michigan, remember?)!

People see themselves the way they want to - and no one manages their image with more reckless abandon than Madonna. If anything, we hope that people will look at these photos (we'd give credit to the photographer, but we don't know who it was - if you know, email us!) and realize that for a mother in her FIFTIES, yeah - she's looking pretty good. Hell, a lot better than a lot of women we know in their 50s, 40, and even 30s, whom haven't even had kids. Also, they should not hold themselves to the INSANE perfectionism seen in ads and TV. Graphic Artists go WAY too far to make people look like mannequins and dolls, rather than real people; models have become idealized forms, sculpted with Photoshop. The blame goes all around to the artists themselves, editors, photographers, and graphic artists. We tend to think that EBONY is amongst the most culpable in this regard. Have you seen their covers? They managed to make even Michael Jackson look human again! He must also have been the "whitest" person ever on that magazine's cover...
