Johnny Depp & Tim Burton’s next collaboration…
It's been officially announced that Johnny Depp will play "Tonto" in Disney's update of The Lone Ranger (he is part Cherokee, could that be the reason for those handsome looks?). ...but the big news is that he will play a supporting role in Tim Burton's "re-imagining" of Alice in Wonderland, as what else?: The Mad Hatter. We thought his "Michael Jackson" version of "Willy Wonka" came pretty close, though. Instead of being just on the verge of insanity, now he is firmly entrenched on the other side - we're sure it will be interesting, one way or another. Supposedly, it will be shot in 3D, and it's certainly well-suited to Tim Burton's German Expressionism tastes.
It is not, however, a film version of American McGee's "Alice." That video game adaptation has been in the works since 2000, and is technically still in "development hell" - pun intended.
