The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Someone wants an Oscar. Bad. Really bad.
From the Director who gave you "Fight Club" and "7even" comes this adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's short story "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." A boy who is born 70, and then ages in reverse, much to astonishment and discrimination of those around him. Needless to say, this causes problems with questions of love, death, children, jobs, etc. It's going to be a film with thoughtful meditations on the life experience and humanity, sure to bring about many awards and accolades for all those involved. Also, the aging and reverse aging makeup effects (along with the other "period" pieces that the movie takes place in) are some of the best we've ever seen. Check out the scenes with Brad Pitt doing his best 'James Dean' impersonation - it's really eerie. At least an Oscar nomination for makeup, no question about it, most likely also for visual effects; maybe one for costuming and set design. Whether they chalk up ones for Acting, Adapted Screenplay and Director we'll just have to wait and see. It comes out in time for Christmas - and Oscar season. Check it out at the link below:
